Humanist Programs in Chicago
Events and Socials
We work to build and grow a community for Humanists in Chicago. We invite exciting speakers for meaningful discussions about a variety of topics - from social justice issues over scientific matters to culture and community. Our annual celebrations include HumanLight and the Winter Solstice in December and the Darwin Day Dinner in February. We like to have a good time together and invite members and friends to join us.
Volunteering and Advocacy
As Humanists, we care about our city and the people that live in it. We believe that Black Lives Matter, women’s rights are human rights, science is real, Love is Love and kindness is everything. We volunteer for social causes such as providing kids in need with what they need to attend school, increase literacy in our communities and advocate for secular governance in Chicago. We work to uphold human rights and civil liberties in an open, secular society without discrimination for religious reasons.
Wedding Officiant and Lifecycle celebrations
Our officiants and Humanist Celebrants provide meaningful, distinctly personal ceremonies along the lifecycle. We mostly perform secular wedding ceremonies in Chicago but also offer memorial services, funerals, baby-naming ceremonies and coming of age ceremonies.
